Most of what I've written for the Chicago Tribune is posted below, along with a few things from elsewhere. Many of the stories are posted via scans (which include any photos that ran with a story), while others are just a story's text. I'll be adding more from Bluegrass Unlimited and Dirty Linen magazines, some various odds and ends, as well as a few more Trib things I might have missed.
I do have a nearly comprehensive index [click here] of what I'd written up until about 2000 or so (the new millennium must have inspired me to get lazy with the index)--if you see anything listed that I haven't already posted below that you'd like to read, let me know and I'll try to dig it out.
Until 1999, I used the nom d'byline, "David Duckman," in the Chicago Tribune and other Chicago-area publications. It was in honor of my late mother, Carol, whose maiden name was Duckman. (My use of that name is mentioned in this Chicago Reader story.)
