Bluegrass singer/songwriter Liz Meyer’s fourth release

for the Netherlands-based Strictly Country label

features an all-star cast of players, including Bela

Fleck, Emmylou Harris, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and

Stuart Duncan. They provide delicious backup but it is

Meyer who is in complete control here, delivering a

batch of intriguing originals, each one an effective

vehicle for her distinctively husky voice. An American

based for some time in Europe, Meyer has achieved

widespread recognition overseas, and The Storm might

be the album that finally raises her profile in the US.
