Chicago Symphony Orchestra
Every year from 1976 through 2008, radio station WFMT-FM held a "radiothon" to raise money for the CSO, and each year, one of the premiums offered was an exclusive LP or a set of CDs. From 1976-1985, these were single LPs of mixed contents (historical recordings, recent recordings, some rarities, and some previously unissued recordings). I have not included the contents of these LPs in the index, but I have listed the contents of these LPs at the bottom.
In 1986, the CSO began its "From The Archives" series of limited edition sets of previously unissued concert recordings.
The first volume (Reiner) came out as a 2-LP set. For the next several years, the sets were produced in LP and CD formats of identical contents, eventually becoming CD-only issues. In 1996, the CSO issued a CD version of the 1986 Reiner set.
To make it easier to find a specific performance, I created this index.
Sorry, I don't have any of these sets to sell - some of the sets might still be available through the orchestra - http://www.cso.org/.
