Never-Ending Earworm - Lou Donaldson's Blues Walk (10/2/14)

Earworms come and go, but this one has never gone, at least for the last 25 years or so. For some reason, every time I get up from my desk at work, almost without exception, I start whistling this tune. Every.Single.Day.For.Years. And that's only some of the time this tune shows up in my mind's ear. And even though I listened to it plenty back in "the day" (and what day was "the day" anyway - a Tuesday?), I've probably put the actual disc in the player maybe twice in the past couple of decades. But there it is, every day, without fail. And amazingly, I still enjoy it when I do hear it. Click on the album cover to hear the tune.

Lou Donaldson's Blues Walk, the title track from the Blue Note album. Recorded at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in Hackensack, New Jersey, July 28, 1958.

Lou Donaldson (alto saxophone); Herman Foster (piano); Peck Morrison (bass); Dave Bailey (drums); Ray Barretto (congas).
